Manufacturing Technologist - Experienced in Continuous Improvement

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible and accountable for continuous improvement and efficiencies across the company
- Drive improvement in the production process to ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery is met
- Create and drive workflow with the focus on reducing cost of goods sold and improving throughput
- Drive improvement in information and communications flow throughout the company - working with cross functional team to understand big picture aligning with future growth structure
- Establish production metrices/goals with production manager and have plans to execute
- Analyze production data, adjust and optimize for higher efficiency using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Facilitate and coach on efficient flow in communication, equipment, materials, people and product
- Plan for future expansion projects using 1-piece flow and lean techniques
- Identify wastes, implement improvement plans, and execute
- Implement preventive maintenance program to minimize unexpected downtime
- Create standardized work procedures and train accordingly
- Audit SOP’s on a weekly/monthly basis - creating improvements where needed
- Work with the Senior Management Team and central functions to deliver service excellence, and assess operational performance against required KPI's

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in manufacturing/engineering or equivalent training
- Experienced in continuous improvement methodology (Lean Mfg / Six Sigma)
- Excellent presentation, organization and problem-solving skills
- Prior management or manufacturing experience is an asset
- Effective communication and organizational skills - proficiency in English
- Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills
- Leadership skills and ability to drive cross-functional team
- Technical competencies in manufacturing (e.g. technical drawings, blueprints, CAD/CAM)

Bandsaw Operator

Maverick Industries Ltd is the manufacturer of Intersteel steel containers for material handling. We’re a fast growing, tight-knit company and we love to help our employees succeed.

We are looking for a person who is interested in operating industrial bandsaws, and someone who can prioritize and organize work to meet production schedule of the next process downstream. We are willing to train the right candidate with a good work ethic, positive attitude, willing to learn new skills and grow with the company long term.

Job responsibilities/requirements:
- Reading blue print drawings and work orders
- Using tape measures accurately and able to read in fractions and decimals
- Operating band saw machine safely and efficiently
- Experience with shear/brake presses and plasma cutter is an asset but not required
- Able to produce quality work in a timely manner
- Able to work in a fast paced friendly environment
- Precision, accuracy and attention to detail a necessity
- Physically fit and can lift up to 50lbs
- Able to work 10-hours shifts Monday-Thursday (Fridays off)
- Communicating well and willing to work in a team and manufacturing environment

Equipment & Facility Maintenance

General maintenance and repairs in the following areas:
- Vehicle
- Forklift
- Welding equipment
- Basic electrical and plumbing
- Hand tools, grinders, paint equipment for production teams
- Other misc. equipment: compressors, shear, brake, saw, sandblaster, etc.
- Buildings and structures around the premises
- Bin repair offsite at the customer location

- Ability to work with hand tools
- Welding experience (MIG, SMAW)
- General electrical and plumbing knowledge (Not a necessity)
- Willing to travel to Winnipeg and other locations for offsite bin repair
- Able to work indoor and outdoors

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Reception - answering phones, taking messages, helping guide walk-in customers
- Booking travel (flight, hotel, rental cars) - communicating itineraries & travel reimbursement requirements
- General errands - purchasing office supplies, picking up items, getting the mail, mailing cheques, etc
- Event/meeting planning - booking meeting rooms, organizing catering/food, technology prep, planning & organizing company & department events
- Accounting support - filing, sorting, timesheets/payroll
- HR support - recruiting & interview support, new employee training schedule, new hire packages, etc
- Production scheduling & logistics support - printing packing lists, quotes for shipping, admin tasks for scheduling WO’s
- Sales support - maintains customer lists, sales data & market trends, competitor research, customer surveys, data collection, submitting WO’s and quotes, managing contracts
- Marketing support - social media accounts, company/product pictures, decal printing and graphic design support, planning promotional events and campaigns, google & meta analytics
- Design and drafting support - proofreading and editing internal/external documents, testing of software, data entry
- General admin - monthly poster announcements - birthday, baby, wedding; purchasing birthday cards, baby gifts and GCs, etc
